Alexandre Kalache participates in small-group meeting on dementia care with HRH Queen Silvia of Sweden and Swedish delegation.

On April 5th, the ILC-Brazil President met with HRH Queen Silvia and Swedish dementia care policy-makers in Sao Paulo to discuss potential for Brazilian/Swedish collaborations. Queen Silvia’s mother was Brazilian and she spent her childhood in Brazil.  She maintains a close affinity to the country. She has been a long-time advocate for greater attention to dementia and end-of-life care. She founded the Silviahemmet Foundation which works to educate health professionals on the issue, in addition to the Queen Silvia Nursing Awards. Dr Kalache had previously met with her in Stockholm.
